Product audit is examination and evaluation of quality requirement of customer. It helps to improve product quality, process requirements, and enable customer satisfaction. Checking quality system at each level of process in production is done.
Following are the other steps involved in it
- Starts with an opening meeting with all stakeholders.
- 20 products from chosen orders are reviewed in production quality part.
- Open-ended questions are preferred to be asked.
- Audit should be completed within the same day/next day.
- Product quality part of product audit consists of 28 questions including MR (minimum requirement) questions and quality assurance part of product.
- Product audit report could be shared with customer.
- Findings and summary should be supported by pictures of the defects.
Root cause of defects and future focus areas
- Each department should be highlighted.
- Clear timelines for the corrective action plans and follow-up audits should be set.
